CREATIVE CULTIVATION

Viridian House works with artists, collectives, and organizations who are ready for a partner to help develop, build, or align their creative practice and projects.

A project manager executes.

A consultant advises.

A collaborator co-creates.

A producer builds.

Viridian House does all of these. The difference is how we do it.

Our approach is values-aligned project development. We accompany artists and organizers through their creative work: in service of their vision, the work itself, and the person making it. We are brainstorming partners when the idea is forming, producers when the project is being built, and problem-solvers when the unexpected arrives.

What it feels like to work with us: we attend to the person as much as the project. We hold space for the questions that haven't been asked yet. Here, care and rest are built into how we work. They live in the pace we set, the conversations we have, the collaborators we bring in, and the timelines we design. . Because how the project lands matters as much as how it is built.

These services are designed for artists, organizers, collectives, and organizations who are already doing the work.

We offer three areas of work: Custom Project Support, Consultation, and Facilitation.

Client Spotlight: Daughters of Desta

Daughters of Desta is an artist collective of five Ethiopian and Eritrean American women: a writer, a pair of interdisciplinary artist-researchers, a filmmaker, and a film producer. They are working together to fill the gaps within the archive of Ethiopian and Eritrean stories, particularly in the DC area.

They came to us with was a desire to do the internal work first. Before the grant applications, online presence, projects, or any outputs, they wanted to align as a collective. To understand each other's strengths and creative instincts. To build a shared foundation.

Over two days, we facilitated a hybrid in-person and virtual retreat designed specifically for Daughters of Desta. We built the environment from the ground up: the aromatherapy blend diffused throughout the space, the herbal tea we brewed and offered, the catered breakfast and lunch, and the playlist. We opened each day with a somatic exercise. We shaped every prompt and the daily itinerary with intention. Because the conditions you create for the work are as much a part of the work as anything else.

This retreat gave us the opportunity to dream and build out our vision clearly, efficiently, and intentionally. Viridian House created a sacred container for us to connect with each other and guided us towards forming a solid foundation to continue from. It was such a grounding experience. I left fulfilled, excited about our possibilities, closer to my collective and clear on next practical steps. This retreat allowed us to forge a clear path forward. Having worked with both Jordan and Nathalie on past collaborations and large-scale projects, they have consistently shown that they are the best producers and conduits for creatives to successfully and sustainably thrive.

Viridian House thoughtfully approaches collectives by putting the artists and the vision first, then layering in the process that allows great work to emerge and flourish. With care, intention, and deep respect for individual values, they create space for alignment, clarity, and collaboration.
