Viridian House is an artist consultancy and creative incubator designed to help artists, cultural workers, and institutions re-root their practices in somatic awareness, ecological rhythms, and collective stewardship.

We provide holistic support through nine-week virtual courses, in-person programming, and values-aligned project development. Born from years of cultural work and lived experience, Viridian House offers a nourishing alternative approach to creative production.

About Us

Viridian House is co-founded by Jordan Martin and Nathalie von Veh. They’ve produced dozens of exhibitions, events, performances, residencies, and books together.

Jordan Martin (she/her) is a curator, collaborator, and creative strategist with over ten years of experience in building artist-led programs, residencies, and publications rooted in care and experimentation. Most recently, she served as the Curatorial Production Manager at Washington Project for the Arts (WPA). In this role, she pioneered models that empower artists as co-creators of cultural programming, ensuring that projects reflect and serve diverse communities.

Jordan is the Project Manager for Art Dept., a creative studio specializing in community-focused public art and art consultation. She is also the co-founder and contributing editor of DIRT, an independent platform for critical arts discourse within the DC region.

Jordan combines strategic vision with grassroots engagement, managing budgets of over $130k and assisting in securing more than $200k in grants. She has partnered with institutions like DC Public Library, the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at GW, and Eaton Workshop. A fourth-generation Washingtonian, she possesses a deep understanding of DC’s cultural fabric and has a proven ability to design inclusive, large-scale programs—from symposia convening over 200 local and international artists and attendees to exhibitions that center marginalized voices. Jordan believes that artists are architects of future systems and is dedicated to creating structures that honor their complexity and needs.

Nathalie von Veh (she/her) is a curator, educator, and arts worker based in Silver Spring, MD. As an independent curator, she’s produced dozens of group exhibitions and performances in partnership with artists, non-profits, schools, museums, and DIY venues.

For more than a decade, Nathalie was a core team member at Washington Project for the Arts (WPA). While there, she helped to implement an artist-organized mission and collaborated with hundreds of artists to produce exhibitions, publications, and events in the DC area. Recently, Nathalie co-produced the experimental symposium How can we gather now? (2023) which took place in DC and featured work by over 30 artists, writers, and organizers from all over the world.

Nathalie currently manages Wherewithal Grants, a part of the Warhol Foundation’s Regional Regranting Program and managed by WPA. Since helping to build the program in 2020, she has managed more than $460,000 in grant distribution to over 160 visual artists in the DC area. She received her MFA in Curatorial Practice from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2020 and currently teaches in the department, supporting students to develop curatorial projects grounded in research and community.
